What is Ontario's Minor Ailments Program?
Since January 1, 2023, Ontario pharmacists have been authorized to independently assess patients and prescribe treatments for a defined list of 19 minor ailments — without requiring a physician visit. This means faster access to care for everyday conditions.
At Peel Best Pharmacy, our pharmacists conduct a confidential consultation, review your symptoms, and — where appropriate — issue a prescription on the spot. Most visits take 15–20 minutes and are covered by OHIP for eligible residents.
