Under Ontario's Minor Ailments program, our pharmacists can assess the bite, evaluate Lyme risk based on the type of tick and how long it was attached, and prescribe a single-dose doxycycline prophylaxis when clinically appropriate — without requiring a doctor's visit.
If you develop a bull's-eye rash (erythema migrans), flu-like symptoms, fever, joint pain, or fatigue after a tick bite, these are signs of possible Lyme disease and require a full physician assessment.
