We also offer blood glucose monitor training for all device types, continuous glucose monitor (CGM) education, A1C interpretation, and ongoing medication adherence support. Is diabetes MedsCheck covered by OHIP?

Yes. Patients with diabetes who take three or more chronic medications are eligible for an annual MedsCheck Diabetes consultation, fully funded by the Ontario government. The consultation takes 30–45 minutes and includes a thorough review of all diabetes medications, supplements, and management strategies.

Can a pharmacist help me manage my diabetes medications?

Absolutely. Our pharmacists review your full medication profile for interactions, optimize dosing schedules, ensure proper insulin storage and injection technique, and coordinate with your physician if adjustments are needed.

Do you provide blood glucose monitor training?

Yes. We offer hands-on training for all blood glucose monitor types and continuous glucose monitors (CGMs). We help you understand your readings, set target ranges, and know when to contact your healthcare provider.

Can I get diabetes supplies at Peel Best Pharmacy?

Yes. We stock blood glucose test strips, lancets, insulin pen needles, syringes, glucose tablets, and other diabetes supplies. Many supplies are covered by the Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB) and private insurance plans.

Do you offer insulin and injection device support?

Yes. Our pharmacists provide insulin pen and syringe technique assessments to ensure proper injection practices, rotation sites, and storage. We can also help troubleshoot issues with insulin pumps and CGM devices.
