550 Matheson Blvd W, Unit 106 · (905) 712-0003 · Open Mon–Fri & Sun 9 am–5 pm

What you need to transfer

  • Your current pharmacy's name and phone number
  • Your name and date of birth
  • Your health card number (OHIP)

That's it. We handle all communication with your previous pharmacy and your medications are ready the same day.

How Prescription Transfer Works

Four steps — most of which we handle for you.

1

Call us — we do the rest

Call (905) 712-0003 and give us your current pharmacy's name and phone number. You do not need to contact your old pharmacy or your doctor.

2

We contact your old pharmacy

Our team calls your previous pharmacy directly, requests the transfer of your prescriptions, and confirms all medication details — including dosage, refill history, and any special instructions.

3

Prescriptions are ready same day

In most cases your transferred prescriptions are ready the same day. We will call or text you when everything is ready for pickup or delivery.

4

Enrol in free delivery (optional)

Once transferred, enrol in our free prescription delivery service. We will set up auto-refill and deliver your medications to your door — no extra charge.

Free blister packs for eligible patients

Managing multiple medications? We offer free blister (dosette) packaging — pre-sorted weekly or bi-weekly — to reduce errors and simplify your routine.

Minor ailments — no doctor needed

Our pharmacists can assess and prescribe for 19 conditions under Ontario law. UTIs, pink eye, cold sores, and more — treated on the spot.

On-site family doctors & travel clinic

TDL MD Clinic and Saldanha Health Centre are co-located at our address. Coordinate pharmacy and physician care without travelling across the city.

Prescription Transfer in Mississauga — What Ontario Law Allows

In Ontario, you have the right to transfer your prescriptions to any pharmacy of your choosing at any time. Your medication records belong to you — not to any particular pharmacy chain. Under the Ontario Drug Benefit Act and the Drug and Pharmacies Regulation Act, licensed pharmacists are authorized to receive transfers of valid prescriptions and dispense your medications without delay.

At Peel Best Pharmacy, we complete most prescription transfers on the same business day. Our pharmacists contact your previous pharmacy directly, confirm all active prescription details, and have your medications filled and ready. You do not need to return to your old pharmacy or obtain a new prescription from your doctor.

What Happens After You Transfer?

Once your prescriptions are transferred to Peel Best Pharmacy, you become part of our patient community at Heartland Town Centre. Our pharmacists will review your complete medication list, flag any potential interactions, and answer any questions you have — at no additional charge.

You can also enrol immediately in our free prescription delivery service for Mississauga, set up free blister pack dispensing if you manage multiple medications, and book a MedsCheck medication review covered by OHIP.

If you need to see a doctor, TDL MD Clinic and Saldanha Health Centre are co-located with our pharmacy at 550 Matheson Blvd W — you can book an appointment with a family physician in the same building.
