Learn about blister packs

Free Home Delivery

We deliver prescriptions directly to your home or retirement residence in Mississauga — at no extra cost. Contact us to set up a recurring delivery schedule for your regular medications.

MedsCheck Consultations

An Ontario-funded annual medication review for patients taking 3 or more prescription drugs. Our pharmacist reviews every medication — checking for interactions, duplicate therapies, correct doses, and adherence challenges. No charge to eligible patients.

Medication Synchronization

We align all your prescription refills to a single pickup or delivery date each month. One trip, one call, one package — instead of managing multiple refill dates throughout the month.

Caregiver & Family Coordination

With patient consent, we can communicate directly with family members or caregivers regarding refill schedules, medication changes, and blister pack pickups. We make it easy for families to stay involved in a senior's care.

Senior Immunizations

Flu shots, Shingrix (shingles), Prevnar 20 (pneumonia), and COVID vaccines — all available walk-in. Many are publicly funded for adults 65+. Our pharmacist can review which vaccines you are due for.

Vaccines Recommended for Seniors

Several vaccines are publicly funded for adults 65+ in Ontario. Walk in — no appointment needed.

Information for Family Members & Caregivers

Managing a family member's medications from a distance can be stressful. With the patient's consent, we can include family members or designated caregivers in refill reminders, delivery notifications, and blister pack pickup coordination. We can also arrange for regular pharmacist check-in calls for patients on complex regimens. Call us to discuss how we can support your family.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are blister packs free for seniors in Ontario?
Blister pack services at Peel Best Pharmacy are provided at no charge to most patients. For patients covered by the Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB) — which includes most Ontario residents 65 and older — dispensing fees for blister-packed medications are covered or subsidised by the province. For patients with private insurance, blister packing is typically included in dispensing fees. We do not charge an additional fee for the packaging service itself. Call (905) 712-0003 to discuss your specific situation.
How does prescription home delivery work?
For patients with a recurring prescription, we can set up automatic refill and delivery. We will contact you when a refill is due (or you can call us), prepare the medication, and arrange delivery to your home address in Mississauga. Delivery is free. For first-time prescriptions or urgent medications, please call ahead to confirm we can accommodate same-day or next-day delivery.
What is a MedsCheck and who is eligible?
MedsCheck is a provincially funded medication review program in Ontario. Any patient taking 3 or more chronic prescription medications is eligible for one MedsCheck review per year — at no cost. During the review, our pharmacist goes through every medication you take (prescription and OTC), checks for drug interactions, reviews side effects, simplifies your regimen where possible, and ensures you understand how and when to take each medication. There is also a Diabetes MedsCheck for patients with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes. Walk in or call to book a MedsCheck at Peel Best Pharmacy.
Can you help with my Long-Term Care (LTC) or retirement home pharmacy needs?
We provide pharmacy services for seniors living in retirement residences and assisted living communities in the Mississauga area. This includes blister pack dispensing, delivery to the facility, and coordination with facility staff and family members. Contact us to discuss how we can support the residents of your facility.
I take many medications and find it confusing. Can the pharmacist help me sort them out?
Absolutely — this is exactly what a MedsCheck is designed for. Many seniors manage 6, 8, or even 10+ daily medications, often prescribed by different physicians. Our pharmacist will review your complete medication list, identify any potential issues, simplify your regimen where possible, and create a clear medication schedule for you. We can also set up blister packs so your medications are pre-sorted in the correct order. Walk in or call (905) 712-0003 to get started.
How do I transfer all my prescriptions to Peel Best Pharmacy?
Simply visit us with your health card, a list of your current medications, and the name of your previous pharmacy. We will contact that pharmacy to transfer all your prescriptions — you do not need to make any calls. The process typically takes one business day for a full medication history transfer. For urgent needs, we can usually initiate a transfer and fill your first refill the same day.
