Blood Pressure Medications We Carry
We stock the full range of antihypertensive medication classes. Most are available same-day. ODB coverage noted where applicable.
ACE Inhibitors
Ramipril (Altace), Lisinopril, Perindopril
Relax blood vessels by blocking angiotensin-converting enzyme. First-line for many patients, especially those with diabetes or kidney disease.
ARBs (Angiotensin Receptor Blockers)
Losartan, Valsartan, Candesartan, Irbesartan
Block angiotensin II receptors to lower blood pressure. Often used when ACE inhibitors cause a persistent dry cough.
Calcium Channel Blockers
Amlodipine, Felodipine, Nifedipine
Prevent calcium from entering heart and blood vessel cells, reducing contraction force and lowering BP. Well tolerated in most patients.
Thiazide Diuretics
Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ), Indapamide, Chlorthalidone
Increase kidney excretion of sodium and water, reducing blood volume and pressure. Often used in combination therapy.
Beta-Blockers
Metoprolol, Bisoprolol, Atenolol, Carvedilol
Reduce heart rate and force of contraction. Particularly useful in patients with coronary artery disease, heart failure, or atrial fibrillation.
Combination Agents
Amlodipine/Ramipril, HCTZ/Losartan, Bisoprolol/HCTZ
Fixed-dose combinations improve adherence by reducing the number of pills. Many patients with hypertension need 2 or more agents to reach target.
Hypertension Pharmacy Services
In-Store Blood Pressure Checks
Walk in for a free blood pressure reading at any time during business hours. Our pharmacists use calibrated digital monitors and can review your readings in context of your medications.
MedsCheck for Cardiovascular Patients
A funded annual MedsCheck review covers all your medications — including antihypertensives, statins, and any other prescriptions. Our pharmacist reviews efficacy, interactions, and adherence strategies.
Medication Synchronization
We align all your refills to a single pickup date each month — one visit, one call. This dramatically reduces missed doses and simplifies management of multiple medications.
Blister Pack Compliance Packaging
For patients managing several daily medications, blister packs organize every dose by day and time. Ask about our free blister packing service for qualifying patients.
Home Delivery
Free prescription delivery in Mississauga for patients who prefer not to pick up in store. Available for regularly refilled medications.
Pharmacist Prescribing Adaptations
Ontario pharmacists can adapt certain prescriptions — adjusting dose, switching to an equivalent, or renewing lapsed prescriptions — without requiring a new doctor visit.
